Throwing it Back 3x

With the Throwback 3-Man Tournament going down this Sunday, we wanted to answer a couple questions that have been sent our way and fill you in a bit more on the rules and format.

Equipment Rules

Mech only or electro capped at 5.5
Limited paint
One loader and one pod per game
Pump players are allowed to bring out equivalent paint
No expanded shell hoppers.
Gravity or agitating loaders only. No force-fed hoppers.

How are we defining what a "force-fed" loader is? Any loader with a tray that sorts paintballs into a line and forces them down into the feedneck will not be allowed.

Three examples of loaders that are allowed:

JT Revolution (Revvy)
Protoyz Speedster
Any gravity fed loader

Basically, if you want an electronic loader on your marker, it must be what is described as an "agitating" feed system. We do have Speedsters and Revvys in stock in the proshop if you want to pick one up in the morning.

We've had a couple questions about using your existing electronic loader and pulling out the tray so it's gravity fed. Yes , that will be allowed, but it must be the normal shell. No expanded shells will be allowed.

Format

We will be running a race-to-two round-robin format. You can have up to 5 players on the roster (if we told you more over the phone or in person, that's fine we'll allow it).

Rules

We loosely follow ICPL rules. We don't follow them to the letter, and any larger rule changes will be announced at the captians meetings starting at 9:00 am on Sunday. This is meant to be a laid back, fun tournament experience and it will be ran as such.

Please wear a long sleeve jersey/shirt
Please limit the amount of orange you wear
No dead man walks (Yes, it's hilarious when it works. No, we're not allowing it)

Other Notes

Gates open at 8:00
Check in will begin when the hut opens. That's usually around 8:30-ish
Paint is $60 per case
Captains meeting is at 9:00
First game will go out right after the captians meeting
Sign ups end Friday Night at midnight
An email will be sent out to each captian on Saturday
If your team is eliminated, they are free to go play with the walk ons for the rest of the day. Paint is the same across the facility.
Prizes and trophies will go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Commanding the German Forces will be Ben Mellish and the Metrowest Bulldogs! Ben is a seasoned vet at commanding teams. He has been a commander on the german side at ION, and is leading the charge at OSG for the third year in a row. He's won multiple game at OSG, and his squad has won multiple MVT awards.

Would Ya Look At That! New BYOP Format Is Here

April BYOP is this Sunday, April 27th! This will be the beginning our new BYOP format. Let us explain the changes.

Why The Change?
We will be running larger, longer, multi-field objective based games. Simply put, our walk on days have become busy and there's not much of a differentiation between a regular day and BYOP. This new format is a different way to experience our fields. Think of it as something in between a scenario game and a normal walk on day, and you can still bring your own paint!

What Type Of Games Will You Be Running?

Multi-field objective based games. A few examples.

Castle Vs Halo Village Pull Flag - You need to reach to the opposing teams base, grab the flag, and run it back.
Halo Village & Sherwood Forest Push Flag - Grab the flag from the center of the field and bring it to the opposing teams starting point. Normally this is played on only one field. Adding Sherwood Forest makes it much more interesting to play.
Cowboys Vs Indians - A BYOP staple. Sherwood Forest and Western Town. One team defends the town. One team attacks. Keep the sheriffs alive or lose your respawn. Whoever has control at the end of the timeframe wins.

These are just a few examples. These games will have longer game times, different respawn (or no respawn) variations, and will all have at least one objective.

Will You Still Be Running Mounds Most Of The Day?

Yes this is the goal. The ref group that runs mounds will also cycle through some of our smaller fields like Urban, Western, etc.

How Many "Walk On" Groups Will be Running?

This will vary but the goal is at least two.

What If It's A Smaller Turn Out?

We will adapt the game style but we will still be running multi-field games.

Will I Be Able To Join The Larger Games At Any Point?

Some games yes. There will be a mechanism in place for this based on the game type and length.

Isn't This Basically The Format From The Fight Or Fright Big Game?

Yes but with more emphasis on objective based, multi-field games. Game times will also vary a bit more.

OSG Paintball | 2025 Winter Operations Update

2025 winter operations update

The final weekend of the 2024 season has come and gone. Normally, we shut the field down and go into hibernation until March. This year, things will be a bit different. We are taking a few weeks off to spend the holidays with family and friends, and will reopen on January 4th, 2025.
The field will be open for walk on play and private groups on Saturdays, and then the last Sunday of each month for BYOP. Pirate Cove, Urban Town, and Mounds will be closed. We are aiming to open Mounds for our BYOP days weather permitting. Walk On hours will be 10:00-4:00. Private games will be 9:30-4:00. We will keep the field closed if it is under 15* and/or a snowstorm rolls through. Our social media accounts will be updated if we do need to close for weather, and an email will be sent out.

The Bunker will be open with a very limited menu and hours. Hot soups, drinks, and sandwiches will be available.

Dave Cage - The owner of OSG Paintball will be commanding team Cage. His favorite Nic Cage movie is Raising Arizona. No need to go over the the history. The only question you have to ask is if you want to shoot with him or at him.
Aric Cage - The Owner of AG Paintball will also be commanding team Cage. His favorite Nic Cage movies are Lord of war and Gone in 60 seconds. Are you going to shoot with Aric or at him?

Generals Commanding the Allied Forces will be Ryan Baring and The Rubber Duckies! This crew is well known around these parts as "those damn pump guys". The last time Ryan was a general up this way was for the Operation Overlord game in 2022 where he won by 1 point. Anyone who has played with and against them knows they are aggressive in the most gentlemanly way and can stay on field for hours at time.

The first scenario game of the 2024 season is this Sunday! Will the Turtles deliver a "shell"aking? Or will the Foot Clan establish itself as a deadly force to be respected and feared? Pick your side and come join the paint wars this weekend!
Battle for supremacy across 43 acres of the most developed paintball fields in New England. Five hours of play, enter and exit as you wish, on field respawns, huge raffle, great food, missions and objectives galore.

Generals and Camping
Generals Commanding the The Turtles will be Tim "Ruckus" Castine! Hailing from the swamps of Massachusetts, Ruckus is a proud member of SHELLSHOCK, the N.H. branch of the S.A.S. He is a Noise Marine, a Dakka Machine, and many of you will hear him no matter where you are on the field. Ruckus has been playing for about 25 years and enjoys long walks in Urban Town and poking paint grenades with a stick. His passion for paintball is only rivaled by his love for TMNT.
Leading the Foot Clan will be Josh Crary! Josh was born and raised in Barnstead, New Hampshire and started playing paintball at OSG in 1998. After learning he was going blind, he turned to paintball as a sport that provided more opportunity for an athletic experience that was naturally more accessible than other mainstream sports in school. Josh played until age 19 and left paintball in 2005 with a return in 2017. Since returning, Josh joined the Horn Section 10 man and scenario team and has been active in scenarios at OSG and PNL. In 2020, Josh served as a general for the fellowship at OSG's LOTR scenario and has been seen on the very front lines of Take the Town at PNL and numerous scenarios at OSG.

The Bunker Ninja Turtles love pizza (so do we). While we don't have the capacity to get pizza for everyone, we do make some pretty epic tacos, so pizza tacos it is! Generals Commanding the Allied Forces will be Shawn-Diesel Deprey! Rolling deep with the CT Foxden chapter, Scott has plenty of scenario game experience at OSG and beyond, and has commanded multiple scenario games. The Allied Forces will be in good hands.
Commanding the Axis Forces will be Jonny B Dubs! You can find him hanging with some ducks, normally behind a pump gun, spending most of his day on field on the front lines. With many scenario games notched on his kilt, the Axis forced will be pushing hard all day on Sunday.

Generals Commanding Team Kratos will be Mike Barney! Scenario Veteran. Fearless leader of PTW. Mike has lead most of the teams he has commanded at OSG to victory. Mike LOVES paintball, loves the NH paintball community, and when not playing, you can find him giving kids free gear to help grow the sport in the state.
Commanding Team Odin will be Andrew "Cookie" Kuc! Long time player. Scenario Veteran. Member of the mighty Thunda Chickenz. Andrew has also lead many games at OSG over the years. Ontop of this, his team knows the OSG fields like no other. This crew will be organized and ready to rumble come Sunday.

Generals Commanding the Allied Forces will be Matt Mcwhinnie and the Home Grown Ballers! Matt is a young buck. He plays at OSG almost every weekend, knows the fields, and will be on field ALL day. Accompanied by his teammates from Home Grown who travel all over the country playing scenario paintball, this squad will be a force on field all day.
Commanding the German Forces will be Ben Mellish and the Metrowest Bulldogs! Ben is a seasoned vet at commanding teams at this point. He's won multiple game at OSG, and his squad has won multiple MVT awards. These guys come prepared, play hard, and wheoever runs with them will be sure to have a great time.

These guys are a reggae/rock 3-5 piece out of New Hampshire drawing influences from bands like The Movement, Roots of creation, Sublime, and The Dirtyheads. Bringing hip hop elements in with melodic reggae vibes. They will be playing from 3:30-ish to 6:00-6:30

Generals and Camping
Generals Commanding the Yellow team will be Judah Graves! Judah started his paintball journey at 11 years old with his Dad playing some good ol' outlaw ball in the the woods. He then graduated to playing at OSG as often as he could. One of the few people to make our very own Bill Mullaney surrender (quite the claim to fame if you ask us).
After a few years of playing at OSG a job opportunity opened up at AG for a ref position. Judah pounced on it. Along with being a referee, he also helps build the fields at AG. We praise field builders...you should too. Since then, he's joined the Raging Rodents woodsball team. If you know this crew, they play every scenario from beginning to end. All day. Non-stop. This crew is a force on field and will fight to the very end for victory.
Commanding the Red team will be "Friday" Steve Turner. Let's go back for a moment to 1991. Radios everywhere were playing Nirvana's hit album nevermind, Kevin McAllister found himself Home Alone for the first time and Steven Turner discovers the joy of paintball. Steve spent a lot of time with the New England Immortals out of Fox 4. His first OSG scenario was Planet of the Apes in 07 and his presence at the field has steadily grown since. Nowadays this international snack enthusiast can be seen rolling with the Send It crew. Our very own Eric considers him to be the crutch that Friday Night walk ons can lean on thus dubbing him "Friday Steve". We believe this to be his legal name now. TGIFriday Steve will be leading the red squad where he intends to defend his home turf harder than a young Macaulay Culkin.

Game details

Welcome to the Eastern Front. This game is based on the Battle of Austerlitz during the Napoleonic wars. Lots of missions, the tank will be running, and it's BYOP!

THE GENERALS

Leading the Austrian Forces will be Mike Barney. Mike is a scenario veteran and has been a general for multiple games at OSG. He will be rolling deep with the Paint The World crew. These guys do great things for New England paintball so shake their hands if you run into him on the field.
Leading the French forces will be Andrew Kuc. Andrew is also a scenario veteran, an OSG veteran, and knows these fields incredibly well. He will be running with the Thunder Chickens. If you know, you know.

Commanding Blackbeard’s Bilge Rats will be Ben Mellish! Ben has been a regular at OSG scenario games over these past few years. He was a general at our spring Lord Of The Rings game and proved to be a formidable leader, taking home the win.

Mounds Field Construction Has Begun

10 Man Mounds Field is coming in 2023

If you've been to OSG at any point this season, you may have heard the rumors of a new field in the works. We haven't really kept it much of a secret, but we didn't want to officially announce it until the first load of dirt has been delivered. Today, the first load of dirt has been delivered and we are making it official. A 10 man mounds field is coming to OSG Paintball for 2023!
Why a mounds field you ask? There has been growing interest in tournament paintball at OSG but many players don't want to play speedball. It's also a lot less intimidating to newer players than a hyperball field for our walk on rotations. A mounds field fits into our mission of keeping paintball fun for the experienced player while offering something that's within reach for the first timer. This field will be built to as close to proper spec as possible, it will be seeded, and we will be playing on beautiful grass covered mounds next season.
What tournaments will we be running in 2023? We have some ideas...all a departure from the traditional formats of the past. We'll have more info on this towards the end of the season/beginning of our off season.
What about parking? Yes...we are going to lose the parking lot closest to the staging area. The lot will be shrinking over the next few weeks as more loads of dirt are delivered and grading starts. Parking will be moving to the outside of Urban Town, Pirate Cove, and across the street. This will make the walk to the staging area quite a bit farther, but we believe the tradeoff is worth it. Updates on this will be posted as construction progresses.
There hasn't been really anything tournament related at OSG for well over 10 years, and we are excited to bring it back the OSG way.

The 4th annual Paintball With A Mission tournament hosted by Swim With a Mission and OSG Paintball has come and gone. This is our favorite day of the season, where we get to do what we do best to help support our Veterans.

what is it?

Paintball With A Mission is a private charity event aimed to raise money and honor our veterans while delivering a powerful leadership training and team building day. This year we had 24 teams sign up. Each team consists of 10 players and one Navy SEAL. These teams are mostly made up of players who have minimal to no paintball experience. Everyone shoots the same marker, same paint, and plays the same games throughout the day ranging from elimination, capture the flag, and hostage rescue.
Along with non-stop paintball, Jason Kuhn, Rick Kaiser, Grant Mann, Rick Woolard, medal of honor recipient Mike Thornton, Harry Bologna, Grant Mann, and Hector Delgato each tell their stories and talk about what it takes to be a Navy SEAL, not just during deployment, but everything that comes after.

Being a private event, there isn't much hype leading up to it. Even with minimal marketing, this has become the largest paintball charity event in history and has grown exponentially year after year.

K9 With A Mission

K9 With A Mission is a program designed to fund support, service and companion dogs for our Veterans. This is a program under the umbrella of Swim With A Mission, a not for profit, which since its formation in 2017 has already donated over $6 million to support our Veterans.
This program has become a crowd favorite since this event started. Before paintball even began, $300,000 was raised on the spot to help train and pair Veterans with service dogs.
"When we reflect on our Veterans, especially those that have been in combat and have seen and done things that are incomprehensible to the rest of us, those experiences are hard to process and cope with. When they arrive back on their home soil and find themselves outside the battlefield, without other soldiers, it can be hard for them to carry the weight of what they have experienced...
The companionship of a support dog has been known to have a very positive impact on Veterans, so we need to do what we can to get dogs to Veterans who need them. We invite you to be inspired and join our mission to match the finest and most capable dogs with Veterans who need the physical and emotional support of a battle buddy that loves them unconditionally.
Each organization benefiting from K9 With A Mission was established to provide veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress, anxiety, traumatic brain injuries, and physical disabilities with a highly-trained service dog free of charge. Many of the organizations train dogs from rescue organizations, shelters, animal control agencies, and humane societies. All of them are committed to giving back to our country’s veterans and improve their quality of life and restoring their independence. The goal of many of these charities is to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the dogs and the veterans."

Generals Commanding the Allied Forces will be Ryan Baring and The Rubber Duckies! This crew is well known around these parts as "those damn pump guys". Anyone who has played with and against them knows they are a pure force on the field. They are aggressive in the most gentlemanly way and can stay on field for hours at time. They know the layout and they know how these games operate. This team is in great hands.
Commanding the German Forces will be John Piper! John has been involved in the New England paintball scene for over 20 years. You can find him at AG Paintball as Operation Manager, head referee, and a vocal advocate for growing paintball in New England. It is an honor to have him run one of our teams and defend against the Allied assault.

Back for another year, this is where we document all the construction that happens on the field. Our team is out every week building, maintaining, and repairing our fields to keep things fresh and safe.

The Lord of the Rings - Return of The King - Game Details and Maps

The first scenario game of the 2022 season is upon is! Paint will fly, 5 hours of action packed paintball will be played, and we can’t wait to welcome many of you back to the field for the first time this season. There is no mandatory preregistration or player cap for this event. Come one come all!

THE GENERALS

Leading The Fellowship will be Ben Mellish and the Metrowest Bulldogs. These fine gentlemen have won MVT at multiple scenarios and will be leading the fight against the Armies of Mordor.
Leading the Armies of Mordor will be David Orvis and the Green Mountain Renegades. This will be their second year as general for this game with their eyes fixated on the prize, a repeat victory of last year.

The Bunker

We will have the normal menu available on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday there will be a build your own taco bar. Our regular menu will be available at 2:00pm. We will have multiple beers from our local favorites, including Kettlehead Brewering out of Tilton, NH and Reklis Brewery out of Bethlehem, NH. We are expecting to have around 20 different beverages available and live music so swing into The Bunker before you leave!

Weekend Schedule

Friday

Walk on Play from 3:00-7:00 PM
The Bunker will be serving food from 3:00-7:30 PM. The bar will be open at 3:00 PM and stay open as long as needed.
Camping is available Friday Night.

Saturday

Walk On Play from 9:30-4:00
The Bunker will run from 11:00-7:00 PM. The bar will be open as long as needed.
Camping is available Saturday Night.

Sunday

Gates open at 7:00 am
Check in starts at 7:30 am
Field briefing begins at 9:15 am
Generals meetings start immediately after.
Game goes out at 10:00 am whether you are on field or not.
Game break will be from 12:30-1:30 - Raffle will happen at the break or after the game depending on weather
The Bunker will offer a limited, buffet style lunch beginning around noon and will run until 2:00. The full menu and the bar will be available starting at 2:00 pm
Game ends at 4:00pm
Final score, raffle, and awards will begin at 4:15 at The Bunker.

Opening Weekend 2022

The best time of year is here! OSG Paintball opens for the 2022 season this Saturday, March 5th. We will have limited operations to start due to snow and cold temps so here's what to expect when you arrive.
The Fields Wear boots! There's 4-12 inches of snow across the fields. That's a big range, because it's a big range. There will be barely any snow in places and it will be deeper in others. We will be operating on every field except for Urban Town and Pirate Cove. We plan to open those fields next weekend.
The Road and Parking The road is manageable. There are some bumps so take it easy on your way in. We were able to clear the parking lots so park as you normally would.

New for 22 - Electronic Loaders Now Standard Across Our Rental Fleet

Electronic Loaders now standard on all rental markers

The paintball rental experience has historically been, let's say, subpar. 5 years ago we started a journey to change that. It began with helping players see better by replacing horrible single pane lens masks with anti-fog thermal ones. A few years after that, we replaced our entire rental fleet with Planet Eclipse Emeks. These markers have a higher rate of fire, are more reliable, lighter, and allow the first time player a fighting chance against experienced players. Now, we are looking to remedy one of the biggest issues with the modern day rental marker...gravity.

For 2022, we are adding electronic loaders to every rental gun we have. You may be wondering, what do these do? In the simplest terms, the loader moves the paintballs around inside of itself using a propeller-like mechanism. There is a break-beam laser in the neck that looks for gaps in the stack. When it detects paintballs are not dropping into the marker, it starts spinning and agitating the paintballs, allowing paintballs to feed faster into the marker.

This will help alleviate one of few issues we've encountered with our Emeks which is the feed rate of our gravity fed loaders not keeping up with how fast the Emeks can shoot. It will also minimize broken paint in the breach and barrel since there will be a more consistent feed rate.

To the seasoned player reading this, this would come across as a really big deal. Most paintball parks offer this in a limited, upgrade only package. Having this standard across the entire fleet is unprecedented. To the first time player, all you need to know is that your rental will work much better and be the best running rental marker at any paintball park on the East Coast. Pick it up, press the button on the back of the loader, and pull the fun switch.

Ten years ago, offering something electronic loaders standard would be considered crazy. Five years ago, a pipe dream. Today, we make it a reality. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for the first time player, and an environment where the regular player always has competition. Game details

This game is more of a traditional format like Operation Overlord. Territory control, attack/defend, split starts in the morning, and single starting points in the afternoon. There will be tanks and a lot of running. What we are changing for this game is the high side Castle and Pirate Cover respawn points. They are getting pushed back a bit to see if it can help alleviate the stalemate along the road between Western Town and Castle.

THE GENERALS

Leading the Soviets will be Dave Larrivee and the Rubber Duckies! If you have been to OSG scenarios at any point in the last 5 years, you may have seen some fine gentlemen running around with Rubber Ducks on their masks. He's one of them.
Leading the Germans will be Kevin Oakes! He builds our fields and has played paintball longer than most of us have been alive. He's a legend.

The Bunker

We will have the normal menu available on Saturday. On Sunday you will have the choice of a chicken sandwich or burger for lunch with a bunch of toppings. Our regular menu will be available at 2:00pm. There are over 20 beers available and two delicious draughts from Reklis Brewing so make sure to swing into The Bunker before you leave!

There Is Only One Way: The Way Of The Mandalore - Mandalorian II Details Inside

The third scenario of the 2021 season lands this Sunday, September 12th with the Mandalorian II. The format has been adjusted based on what worked and didn't work last year to help make this game an incredibly fun and balanced attack defend game.

The FORMAT

Both teams will be given the same missions with equal time to accomplish them. A coin flip will decide who attacks first.

THE GENERALS

It's a rematch! Mike Barney will command the red team, and Eric Hill will command the yellow team. Both of these fine gentlemen have a ton of experience running games, so we are expecting an excellent, hard fought game from start to finish.

Operation Overlord 2021 is upon us! There is no mandatory preregistration or player cap for this event. Come one come all! This is one of our favorite weekends of the season and do we have some exciting news to share....
The Bar is Open
That's right folks. The bar in The Bunker is finally open! It's been a long road to get this place up and running...and here we are. While the building itself isn't 100% complete, it's complete enough for it to accomplish its task, and that's serve beer. We will have a handful of beverages on draft and in cans ranging from Rek-lis Brewing, Lithermans Limited, 603 Brewery, Tuckerman's Brewing, Citizens Cider, and Bud Light. We will have photos posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages with a more detailed list Friday evening.
The first beverage will be served starting at 5:00pm on Friday. Come get it!

Generals Commanding the Allied Forces will be Devon Schwarts. This man travels to fields all over the country, loves paintball, and will be a fantastic leader of the blue team. Commanding the German Forces will be Chris Desrochers, aka "Roach". He is a lover of all mech related paintball things, and will try to lead his mechanical army of ducks to a successful defense of the Allied assault.

Our yearly field maintenance log returns! As many of you know, we have been working hard upgrading the food we deliver at the field, but we have absolutely not stopped working on our fields. Our field manager Kevin Oakes has been grinding away making sure these fields are always in tip top shape.

The first scenario game of the 2021 season is here! Paint will fly, six hours of non stop paintball will be played, and we can’t wait for the GO GO GO at 10:00 am. There is no mandatory preregistration or player cap for this event. Come one come all!

COVID-19 RULES

As we progress with fully reopening, we have rolled most COVID rules back with the exception of wearing masks in the check in building. All players must wear a mask while checking in this weekend, vaccinated or not. We will be revisiting these rules next week and adjust accordingly.

Schedule

The game will begin at 10:00 am. We will NOT be having a break for this game. We will be running from 10:00-4:00 non-stop. Food will open at around 11 and will stay open all day.
7:00 – Gates open
7:30 – Registration opens
8:00 – Chrono opens
9:00 – Game briefing
9:15 – Generals meeting
9:30 – Teams move out to starting points
10:00 – Game begins
4:00 – Game Over
4:15 – Score, Team MVT’s and MVP’s.
We will still have a raffle but it will be digital. Everyone's name will be put into a system after lunch, names will be randomly generated, and we will post the winners on the hut. You can check to see if you won something when you get off the field at your leisure.
At the end of the day we will be announcing the score, MVT, and MVP awards.

The Generals

Commanding the Fellowship will be one of the most regular regulars at OSG, Ryan Ellis! He plays at OSG more than anyone else and will surely be a formidable general. Commanding the Army or Mordor will be David Orvis and the Renegades. Any given scenario game you will find these guys on field all day, non stop.

Operations Update – 11/19/2020

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – Due to a surge in COVID-19 across New England, the NH Governor’s office has issued a mask mandate starting November 20th. Staff and players are required to wear face masks while moving around the staging area at all times.

When Am I Required to Wear a Mask?

We are asking everyone to wear a mask at all times while moving around the staging area. When you are sitting at your picnic table, you may remove your mask unless you are sitting within close contact of someone you did not show up with. When you are walking to and from a game, you do NOT have to wear a mask. How is this different from before? Prior to this weekend, we only mandated it in the check in building, proshop, and air lines.

Why Now?

So far we have not seen a single COVID-19 case come out of our field and we want to keep it that way. The best way to do that? Wear a mask. We want to keep running paintball right up until Christmas and through the winter months, so this simple ask keeps all parties involved safe, and keeps paintball going strong.

2020 Closing Day

We will be operating 7 days a week for private games, birthday parties, etc until December 20th. Walk ons will be open every Saturday and Sunday until December 20th as well.

Winter Operations

As of now, we are aiming to stay OPEN for the majority of the winter. We plan to be open for private parties starting January 8th and SATURDAYS for the month of January for walk on play. We will see how much snow we get and make decisions about February from there. Winter operations will be weather dependant. If we get smashed with snow, we will close down until we feel the fields are playable.

Season Pass Holder Appreciation Day This Sunday

We love our season pass holders! If you have a 2020 Season Pass or a newly purchased 2021 or NHPA Season Pass, come out for a fun filled day of special games, free food provided by OSG (for season pass holders), a raffle for something unique, and you can bring a friend that won’t be counted towards your 2 bring a friend coupons.

Private games are available and regular walk on play will be running as well.

November BYOP

We will be capping numbers even lower for this game than previous BYOP days. If you want to guarantee your spot, purchase a ticket ASAP or grab a 2021 season pass. There will not be a cap on season pass holders.

This Is The Way – The Mandalorian Scenario Game – The Details

The final scenario game of the year is here and we have a couple tweaks to the format to discuss.

Game Outline

This is going to be a giant attack/defend game. The attacking team will start in the castle and has 2 hours 45 minutes to complete their missions. At the end of this time, the nets will close, the game will stop, and teams will swap sides. Players will NOT be allowed to leave the field. Our referees will reset all of the props, and we will start from scratch. The defending team will now have an opportunity to attack and has the same amount of time to complete all of their missions. Both teams will have an an equal shot at the same missions.

We will have Mike Barney from Team FEAR leading the Blue team and Eric Hill from Team Homegrown running the red team. Both of these fine gentlemen have played many of our scenario games and will lead their teams to good times and hopefully a victory for their side.

Just kidding. The second scenario game of the 2020 season is this Sunday. Paint will fly, six hours of non stop paintball will be played, and we can’t wait for the GO GO GO at 10:00 am. As of this writing there are 15 tickets left. Once they sell out, that’s it! While we have been operating fairly normally, we still live in COVID times and have some rules to follow. See the details below:

COVID-19 Rules

We don’t care what your opinion is in on the efficacy of masks. We have a business to run and employees to keep safe and employed. That’s all we care about. Due to this, masks are required at certain times and in certain areas of the staging area.

We get it. Masks aren’t fun. We are outdoors and spread out, but they allow us to keep our doors open. We will have masks for those who forget but we are asking everyone to bring their own. A paintball mask does not count as a “mask” in the staging area.

Schedule

To keep people from crowding together, we will be breaking the teams up into squads and bringing them out to different starting points one squad at a time starting at 9:30.

The game will begin at 10:00 am. To keep any large crowds from gathering, there will NOT be an hour break. We will be running from 10:00-4:00 non-stop. Food will open at around 11 and will stay open all day.

We will still have a raffle but it will be digital. Everyone’s name will be put into a system after lunch, names will be randomly generated, and we will post the winners on the hut. You can check to see if you won something when you get off the field at your leisure.

At the end of the day we will be announcing the score, MVT, and MVP awards. Masks are required during the announcement.

7:30 – Registration opens
8:00 – Chrono opens
9:00 – Game briefing
9:15 – Generals meeting
9:30 – Teams move out to starting points
10:00 – Game begins
4:00 – Game Over
4:15 – Score, Team MVT’s and MVP’s.

Low Impact Walk On Play Starts October 4th

Beginning October 4th, we will be offering Low Impact walk ons for ages 9 and up! This will be an “open play” game that runs every Saturday and Sunday geared towards the following:

This opens up paintball for ages 9-11 and gives a less intimidating option for those who may not want to play against self equipped players. How is this going work you may be wondering? Here’s the run down:

Why Now?

Valid question. Many other fields have been doing this for a while. We simply didn’t feel we could offer a paintball experience that lived up to what we deemed worthy of a first time experience. On top of that, we weren’t convinced we could draw enough players to make it worth it for us and for those who would come play. That has changed. When you combine the effects COVID has had on outdoor recreation, coupled with how well the Planet Eclipse Emeks work, we believe we can deliver on that promise of a premium first time experience should players decide to choose Low Impact.

Let’s Get This Party Started – Operation Overlord 2020

The first scenario game of the 2020 season is this Sunday. We are excited and can’t wait to get this party started! Now…running an event during COVID times means there will be some changes to how we operate, the schedule, and game format.

To keep people from crowding together, we will be breaking the teams up into 4 squads and bringing them out to 4 different starting points one squad at a time starting at 9:30.

Commanding the Allied Forces will be the Green Mountain Renegades. Commanding the German Forces will be the one and only “Eggy Egg”.

Operations Update 8/12/2020

The Halfway Point

We are halfway through the 2020 season. Somehow we made it this far (2020 is stupid). We plan to make the second half of the season as exciting as we can by dropping more smaller events beyond what’s been announced. Out first paint delivery since COVID hit arrives next week which means one less thing to worry about. If you haven’t been to the field, come social distance with us!

Walk Ons and Season Pass Holders

It is no longer mandatory for walk ons, season pass holders, and gear owners to register in advance before you come play. If you’d like to pay and purchase paintballs in advance, the option is there, but it is no longer mandatory. If you need rental gear we strongly encourage you to make a reservation.

If you are a 2020 season pass holder and you are still on the fence about coming to play due to COVID, we can move your pass to next season. We are no longer issuing refunds for the 2020 season.

2020 Event Schedule

We will be running three scenario games and adding a few smaller events. We want to cram as much paintball in as we can while we can. Events will be capped to 150 players + season pass holders. Preregistration required. Season pass holders do NOT have to preregister for events. Masks will be required in certain parts of the dead zone. Field Updates

We have been a little behind on the field maintenance side of things since we opened, but that is about to change. Expect some updates to Empire Castle and somthing fluid is going to be added to the dead zone in the coming months. We have been building bunkers all across the field. Last season we did a massive rebuild on Fire Base Kilo. We added more bunkers than we can count which made it SO much more fun to play. We added so many bunkers that we actually turned it into two fields. First Contact & Area 51. When we run larger groups, we put the two fields together to play through one awesome bunker ridden playing area. This brings us up to 12 playable fields! Check out both fields below.

We are open for walk on play Friday 12:00-7:00pm, Saturday 9:30-4:00pm, and Sunday 9:30-4:00pm. Private games are available by reservation only 7 days a week.

July 2020 BYOP is ON!

Guys! It’s happening! We WILL be running our first BYOP day at the end of the month. July BYOP is ON! Now…we live in COVID times, and we will be running things a bit differently.

On top of hosting our first BYOP of the season, we will be donating $5.00 of the first 100 player’s admissions to the New Hampshire Paintball Alliance . If you aren’t a member, you should join! Now Offering Custom Cerakote

Outside of working on our fields these past couple months, we’ve been busy adding a few new services, one of which is custom Cerakote.

What is Cerakote?

Field Building 101: The OSG Way

As a paintball field we pride our self on 3 major things: community, experience, and field quality. Today we will go into some of the history, process, and decision making that goes into why we build fields the way we do.

History

In the beginning, OSG Paintball started with two giant fields. Halo Village and Sherwood Forest (Big Woods) were one field simply called “The Village”. The other field was our Castle field which was home to a three story, 360* structure. The next field we built was on the area you all now know as Western Town. It was a stacked log “speedball” field. From there, we went through many iterations of speedball fields where Urban Town and the overflow parking lot is. Then we added Western Town, Urban Town, Hamburger Hill, Fire Base Kilo (now Area 51 & First Contact), Small Woods, Pirate Cove, The LZ, and Star Wars (not in that order). From two fields to twelve. The rest is history.

Building a Paintball Field is Part Art, Part Science.

The Art of Field Building

Themed fields are our specialty. Multi level, multi stage, immersive environments are what we strive to create. We aim to recreate the forts we built as kids, the video games we play in our youth, and the movies we watch as adults. Paintball fields should be challenging yet forgiving, adrenaline pumping yet provide a level of safety, and stressful yet rewarding. Our fields are built with love and tested by our employees to make sure the finished project is everything described above.

The Science of Field Building

Our fields are not simply made to look good in pictures and video, they are planned out from start point to start point. We use the lay of the land to create shooting, running, and lanes of movement. “The first thing I do when I am going to build a field is walk the terrain…then establish start points based on the theme. I start with the main building placement first and then build out from the center” says Kevin Oakes, the man responsible for building our fields over the last 20 years. “I also determine the size and height of a bunker based on the terrain and shooting lanes from other bunkers in the immediate area. Another vital aspect of field design is analyzing movement from bunker to bunker. Placement of bunkers should be a reasonable distance forward and side to side.”

As marker technology and ROF have advanced, so have our fields. Those long runs of the past are now almost impossible to make. Over the years we have built structures and bunkers closer together to accommodate the changes in marker tech and playing style.

Field Testing

Once a field is built, it’s about testing it to make sure it plays as well as it looks. Our employees will play games on repeat trying different game types and starting points. We search for field flow, dangerous “lanes”, potential weak points that can be exploited, and bunkers/locations that are too “powerful”. From there we adjust to make sure the field plays the way we want it.

Once the employee testing phase is complete, we let our season pass holders get first dibs at playing it. Listening to their feedback is vital because sometimes no amount of employee testing can predict how these fields are played by the masses. Once this phase complete, it’s time to open to the public!

Layout Changes

The last piece of testing comes in a form we don’t discuss much. We will use some of our better players and staff to try and find and exploit gaps in field design. What are we talking about? It’s best described with an example:

Eight or so years ago one of our employees found a way to run Western Town in under two minutes (normally just north of 1 minute) with two players from the hotel side. This exploited a big gap in the Western Town design that no one would have ever noticed during the initial testing process. A few of our season pass holders ended up picking up and replicating this move which turned Western Town into a one sided affair. There was no way to counter it without changes to the field so we added a large bunker on the church/woods back corner aptly named “stick bunker” and a couple extra buildings on lookers right of the church. This is one example of how our fields are always evolving and changing based on player habits.

Scenario Games

Our fields are not just designed to run as individual fields. We also run multi-field big games during BYOP and full field scenario games. When we build new fields, we design them to play well when the boundaries are dropped between fields. On top of this, we analyze scenario game player movements and areas that tend to cause stalemates. We will add bunkers and structures to try and encourage movement and make it easier for players to progress around the field.

Field Maintenance

The final piece of the puzzle is field maintenance. We have a field maintenance crew that maintains our fields every week to keep everything clean and safe. We use the hashtag #alwaysbuilding because that’s what we do. We are always building. Always improving. Always progressing. Any given weekend you will find new bunkers, more brush clearing, groomed walk ways, and so much more. This is essential at any paintball park, and something we do on a weekly basis. Just a quick reminder that we have pushed Opening Day 2020 back at least a couple weeks. We don’t have a date just yet, but will hopefully have a better idea soon.

In the meantime, we are working on our fields, getting our proshop restocked, and updating our safety guidelines to make sure we can offer an experience that’s as safe as possible for our players and staff.

With the paintball season hopefully kicking off soon, we wanted to give our community an update regarding operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. As you may have noticed we have been really quiet with updates. The situation has been fast moving and changing daily so we wanted to make a call as close to opening day as possible.

Non-essential business in the state of NH have been ordered to close until May 4th, so Opening Day will be postponed until May 9th or until the order is lifted.

While the field will be closed, our pro-shop is currently being re-stocked with new gear. Every dollar spent with us will keep us going during these trying times. We will also be working on our fields to make sure they are ready to go when it’s time to open the doors for paintball once again. Don’t forget that we offer financing on everything in our proshop!

Winter Scenario Paintball: Game of Thrones

The return of a Winter Scenario. Game of Thrones is Finally here. I know many of us can’t wait for the Final Season to air in April so we decided to create our own.

The Breakdown.

With this being a Winter Scenario game the nets surrounding Pirate Ship and Urban Town are not up so those fields will be out of play. We have adjusted the respawns and slapsticks due to this limited area. There will be no Tanks active during this Scenario. They are like Dragons. They don’t like the Cold. With the Snow we are expecting to get this week we cannot predict the conditions on every field. We ask players to dress appropriately for the cold and the constant moving around. We will have a fire going to help keep everyone warm.

Nate Killary will be leading the Living(Yellow). Nate has played at OSG for years and has a lot of Scenario experience. Shawn Parsons aka Batman will be leading the Armies of The Dead(Red Team). Shawn has played many OSG Scenarios as well.

Dave Larrivee will command the Soviets (red team). Dave is an experienced player at OSG, and this will be his first time as a general for one of our scenarios.

Andrew Kuc will command the Germans (yellow team). “Cookie” has played at OSG for years and knows the fields as well as anyone. This will also be his first time as a general at OSG.

The Breakdown

This scenario game will function similar to our past scenario games with a few small tweaks and 6 large ones.

The Generals

Frank Grow will command the red team. Frank has been a general at many of our scenario games and brings year of experience to the field.

Jim Bancroft will command the yellow team. Jim has been a player up at OSG for years. He’s a gamer, developer, and has all the tools necessary to lead his team to victory!

OSG Paintball Helps Raise over $500,000 for Veterans Organizations

OSG Paintball and Swim With a Mission raise over $500, 000 for veterans organizations.

15 eleven man teams led by US Navy SEALs converged onto OSG Paintball to raise $$ for veteran organizations such as The National Navy UDT SEAL Museum, Veterans Count, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, The Dan Healy Foundation, and Harbor Homes. NH Governor Chris Sununu, former US Senator Kelly Ayotte, and inventor Dean Kamen were in attendance.

The event started with US Navy SEALs telling their combat stories, NH business leaders spoke about leadership, and prominent NH politicians discussed what they are doing to help our veterans. Immediately following the panel, all 15 teams played a modified round robin paintball tournament across our Western Town, Halo Village, and Landing Zone paintball fields.

Over 160 players (most all have never played paintball before) were using Planet Eclipse EMeks to level the playing field. Paintballs were provided by G.I. Sportz.

We want give a special shout out to The National Navy UDT SEAL Museum for bringing their crew of current and former Navy SEALs to the woods of NH to tell us their story. It was an honor to have them here!

We’d also like to thank Planet Eclipse for the amazing customer support, G.I. Sportz for delivering excellent paint for this event, and Phil and Julie Taub from Swim With a Mission. These two are the reason this event came together as it did. Their passion and hard work truly paid off and we can not wait to host again next year.

The OSG RTO Program Starts Now

2018 has brought some amazing changes to OSG. New rental guns, major updates to our fields, and TANKS! Guess what?! We’re not done.

Barrier To Entry

Quality paintball gear is expensive. It’s worth every dollar, but for many out there it’s simply unattainable. For newer players, having the right gear from day one could make or break someone becoming a “regular” or a one and done player. With this program, we are aiming to lower that barrier to entry for the new player looking to get into the game, or give someone an easier way to finally invest in a full setup.

Enter the OSG “RTO” Program

Rent to own. With the introduction of the EMek from Planet Eclipse, we saw an opportunity to get players behind an amazing paintball gun at an even better price. For a non-refundable, $60 down payment, you lock in a Planet Eclipse EMek for you to use for the rest of the season. The gun stays at OSG and is rented out like any other gun we have in our fleet. Every time you come up, you will pay the gear owner’s admission fee (or buy a season pass) instead of the full rental admission. You have until the end of the season to pay off the used price of the gun. When you pay off the gun we will tear it apart, clean every crevice of it, replace any o-rings that need it, add any upgrades you want, and you get to take the gun home with you.

Why the EMek you ask? It’s one of the most reliable guns on the market. It’s light, accurate, consistent, and with the proper upgrades (hopper, barrel kit) it’s all anyone needs to have fun in the woods for years to come.

Our hope with this is simple. You get to play paintball for less, pay off equipment, and upgrade gear at YOUR pace.

Hold the Line! Operation Overlord 2018: The Details.

The largest attack defend game in New England returns this weekend! Join the Allied Forces as they try to wipe out German defenses, or join the Germans as they hold the line to keep the Allied Forces at bay.

The Generals

The Allied Forces will be commanded by Joe O’Malley. He is the owner of Xtreme Paintball in Agawam. This is his third year in command. His field teams have proven they have what it takes to dominate the fields here at OSG and will be back to attempt to bring home the win once again.

The Germans will be commanded by Quinn Steeves. He has been a General for multiple games at OSG, has an in depth knowledge of the how the fields play, and will be a force to be reckoned with come Sunday.

A no nonsense financing option. Payments are split up into 4 equal payments automatically deducted from your bank account every two weeks. The first one is due at checkout. No interest, no credit check, no credit card . The best part? You get your gear immediately.

How Does it Work?

Please note that Pirate Cove and a portion of The LZ will be CLOSED for this game due to construction of a new Pirate ship.

We will have 2 veteran players running these teams. Frank Grow will be commanding The Resistance, and our own Quinn Steeves will be commanding The First Order. Both of these fine men are organized, know the field, and will help provide an awesome experience for everyone.

3 Man Woodsball Tournament – The Details

Bringing it back! Tournaments return to OSG for 2018. You are here for the details so let’s get into it.

Format

Round Robin – Points will be counted for each kill, live players at the end of each game, flag pull, and flag hang. Top 4 teams with the most points move onto the finals.

Finals – #1 plays #4. #2 plays #3. Winners play each other for first and second. Losers plays for third.

Schedule – Will be released on Saturday. Start time is currently 10:00 am, but if we get more teams than expected it will be moved to 9.

Rule Clarifications

Limited Paint – 2 pods and one hopper. Yes, 260/280 hoppers are allowed

Capped ROF – 8 BPS or mech. If you are shooting an electronic marker, it is your responsibility to make sure your gun is set up correctly. Automag RTs and other RT triggers will be allowed and inspected by our staff. If we feel the RT set up goes against the spirit of the event, we will pull the gun for the day. OSG has final say in this so if you do plan to play with an RT, set your gun up properly or bring a back up.

Chrono – 290 or below. Guns will be tested before each game. Again, it will be your responsibility to make sure you gun is shooting the proper speed.

Gun Hits – Gun hits will count.

Playing Gear – Players must wear long sleeve shirts.

Rentals – Rentals will be included with your registration fee. We unfortunately do not have our EMeks in yet, but if you do need a gun, we have your back.

The Fields

We will be playing on The LZ and Tombstone Western Town. Games will begin with a 10 second burn.

The LZ – Players will be starting at the center starting points. Players will not be allowed inside of any buildings or inside the helicopter. Players are allowed to move through the main doors. Players may NOT enter the the helicopter from the rear.

Tombstone Western Town – Players will be starting behind the church and behind the hotel. Second stories are off limits. Players may enter the church and hotel off the break for the first 5 seconds. From that point, players must exit the inside of the buildings. Players are not allowed to go inside any buildings.

The EMek Has Arrived. A Brand New Rental Fleet For 2018.

We are firm believers that the first paintball experience is THE most important. Two seasons ago we swapped to a full thermal airsoft mask rental fleet so players could actually see where they were going, what they were shooting at, and who was shooting at them. The status quo of having players pay a fee to upgrade their mask to see was and is unacceptable in our eyes. This move was a game changer to the overall player experience on our fields. This season, we are taking things to the next level again…we are bringing in a brand new upgraded fleet of rental guns!

The Planet Eclipse EMek is Coming

Out with the old, in with the new. For 2018 every rental package is a fully upgraded package. We are replacing our entire 250 gun .68 cal rental fleet with the Planet Eclipse EMek. In our opinion, this is the best rental specific marker made to date.

Paintball Tank Battles are Coming

**UPDATE** – Tanks are here! We are looking to run our first games mid to the end of August. Reservations will become available soon.

We said big things were coming for 2018. In this case, we have 8 of them. Paintball Tank Battles are coming to OSG this June! We have purchased 8…yes…8 single person 500cc paintball battle tanks and will be running 4 on 4 tank battles on specially designed fields…7 days a week. We are only one of two fields in the entire country that offers this!

The Tanks

These are 500cc single person tracked vehicles with a top speed of 8 MPH weighing in at about 1100 lbs each. The tracks are controlled by 2 levers and have a paintball marker built into a rotating turret. These are miniaturized single person tanks…seriously. Take a look!

Maneuver. Shoot at friends. DRIVE TANKS.

Scenario Games

We will be utilizing these tanks in all of our scenario games going forward to make the best scenario games in New England even better. Whether it be mini games on our tank fields or putting them all on the field at once, we will be including them to make the scenario experience that much better.

The final scenario game of the season is upon us. Here are some things you need to know.

The Generals

Mark Schultz will command the Soviet forces. Mark has been a season pass holder for countless years. He is on the Allied Command for ION and other large games at Skirmish. He has also been the general for multiple games at OSG.

Scott Wilson will command the German forces. Scott has been a staple of scenario play at OSG Paintball longer than almost anyone else and is always a formidable adversary on the field.

For this game we will have “cannons”. These “cannons” will be mobile bunkers that players may use their “rocket launchers” from. Rocket launchers will not be permitted to be used anywhere else on the field, they may ONLY be used from behind these cannons.

Game Details and Schedule

Our Operation Overlord scenario game is based on the Invasion of Normandy with emphasis on what happens after the beach landing. While we do include a mini version of it, it’s not what this game revolves around. We split the teams at the onset of the game. One half of each team partakes in a mock beach landing while the other half of the teams start out in a close quarter battle through our Pirate Cove and Urban Town fields. Teams battle for control of these territories for the first hour. After that it is one massive attack/defend game with endless side missions to accomplish.

Shoot it Before You Buy it.

How many of you wish you were able to shoot the paintball gun you purchased before you bought it? Not just shoot it, actually go out and play games with it? With our new pro shop, we are introducing a new gun demo program. It’s simple…try it before you buy it. When we open, we will have popular markers from Empire Paintball, Planet Eclipse, and more available to take out to try…for free.

Why is this important? When a new marker drops, players always ask, “How does it shoot?” Let’s get real. The technology in paintball guns has come a long way. They have become more efficient, more consistent, and more reliable for less money. The shot quality of a $1,500 paintball gun is not $1,000 better than a $500 one. The real question is, “How does it feel?” There’s no way to really answer that question until you take it out on the field and play with one yourself. We want you to be able to try the gun you are interested in before you make the investment. If you like the demo, you can buy one off the wall, we can order it for you and have it at the field the following weekend, or we can ship it to you.

This program begins April 1st. As we carry more brands, we will be adding them to the demo line.

You Don’t Play Paintball In Pro Shops

For 24 years we have been operating without a retail shop on site. We have focused solely on delivering the best on-field paintball experience possible while building the most fun to play, elaborate paintball fields you can step foot on on the eastern side of the country. Many have asked us, “Why don’t you guys have a pro shop? You would kill it!” Simply put, you don’t play paintball in pro shops. To us, the fields come first. We said in the past that one day when we have built OSG up enough to warrant it, and we had the staff to support it, we’d consider opening a pro shop. After building out our 11th paintball field last year, and taking customer feedback into consideration, we decided it was time…

As of April 1st 2017, OSG Paintball will have a retail location on site.

It will be located in our current building and be packed with great gear from GI Sportz, Empire Paintball, JT Paintball, Planet Eclipse, Virtue Paintball, Bunker Kings, Exalt Paintball, Raza Paintball, and many more. We’ll update the list as we move closer to opening day.

To accommodate the changes, we are adding a large addition onto our existing building. We will be changing our check in process entirely and rearranging “the hut” as you all know it. We have re-imagined how to move customers through the building to make check in as fast and efficient as possible. We will follow up with another post on that at a later date when we get close to finishing construction.

This pro shop is an addition to our facility. Our fields and customer service will ALWAYS come first, and we are absolutely not done building more fields and updating existing ones.

December is here and so is the snow! Sadly, this brings us to the end of the 2016 paintball season. This was the busiest season we have had in the history of the company by a landslide. The OSG Paintball family grew tighter, new friends were made, and great paintball was had all year.

OSG is more than just a paintball field to many of us. It’s a community. It’s a family. That community is what gets us up early in the morning and keeps us here late preparing for the next day. It’s also what drives us to make the paintball experience here second to none in New England and one of the best you can have in the country.

This season we saw the completion of our Star Wars field , bringing our field total to a legitimate 11 fields that we are now able play every single day. Next season we have one very large build in the works, and a ton of smaller builds that will enhance everyone’s experience. We will not be launching a new field next year, but we will begin work clearing for a 12th field in the future. We will have more details over the winter about these expansion plans.

We would like to thank every single person who came to play paintball with us this year and every season pass holder who has helped us grow paintball at the field and in the state of NH. The term “grow paintball” is thrown around by everyone in the paintball industry but not always practiced at the most important levels. We firmly believe that to grow paintball, it is vital that the first experience is something unforgettable. This sometimes means restraint by seasoned players on the field. This culture we promote is not possible without buy in from season pass holders and our “regulars”. You all have done that, and we thank you so much for helping us with this monumental task.

Lastly, a special shout out to the players below. These eight players round out the top 5 visits of the season. You all rock, and we can’t wait to see you all again in the spring!

The Eastern Front scenario paintball game is only a couple days away!

Game Map

This game will be between the German and Polish Forces. The game is split into two halfs. Each half has a different map which will be posted on the mission boards. There will be smoke, tanks, fun all day missions, and did we mention it’s BYOP? Because it is which is kind of a big deal.

Frank Grow will be the commander of the Polish Forces. Chris Authier will be the commander of the German forces. Frank has been the commander of a few scenario teams up here and is a part time referee. Chris has been a referee here for years. Both of these fine gentlemen know this field incredibly well which should make for a most excellent day of back and forth paintball.

Smoke ’em if you got ’em, except in the staging area. New smoking policy now being enforced.

Coming in line with many of the larger family friendly outdoor recreational facilities in the state of NH, OSG Paintball will now be enforcing a no smoking and vaping or use of any product using vape carts rule within 25 feet of all buildings and picnic tables. This has been the single biggest complaint we have received this year. We have been discussing this internally for the past few months and decided it is time to make it official. This 25 foot rule makes the entire staging area no smoking. Below you can see a rough guideline to where smokers may smoke.

We would like to thank everyone who has voiced their opinion on the matter. Starting this week you will see signs popping up in the staging area and it will be strictly enforced by our staff. We would also ask people to refrain from bringing their cigarettes and vaporizers onto the field with them when they play and to be respectful when smoking in the parking lots. ARR You Ready? The Final Scenario Game of the 2016 Season is Here. Dark Tides: Black Flag

The final scenario game of the season is here! Here are the details:

Game Map

The Loot System – One of the many objectives will be to find loot and treasure maps to find treasure chests. When you find loot and treasure chests, you must bring them to the Harbormaster. You can trade them in for points or perks. Here is the list of some of the perks:

Shooting Challenge – We have added an on field shooting challenge as one of the first missions. Three players of each team will go through this challenge for points at their starting area when the game begins.

These additions should add some more strategy and make for an interesting start to the game.

We ask all players to be suited up and checked in by 9:00. Game begins at 10 AM whether you are on the field or not. If you have any questions feel free to shoot us a message on our Facebook page or give us a call at 1-800-707-7529. Save your self (and us) time at check in! Preregister and fill out a Waiver in advance.

The Art of The Paint Check

“Check em check em check em!”

“Ref get him out!”

“Ref check him!”

When you go to any paintball field you hear those words yelled on field no matter the style: speedball, woodsball, rec-ball, scenario games, big games, pump play, magfed, and stock class. Every player does it in some capacity. This post is to address proper paint check etiquette and to explain why our refs paint check who they do and why.

The purpose of the paint check has always been to call a referee over to see if a paintball broke or if the break counts as a hit…on yourself. Well a long time ago, in some far away paintball land, it evolved into players telling referees to go check other players they think they hit. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. A referee is there to call players out, help dead players off the field, enforce rules, make sure players are being safe, facility games, and paint check players if they need it. During smaller games, our referees can do this without it interfering with their job. During big games, it becomes more complicated. You want our referees to paint check players for you? Let’s start with what NOT to do.

“CHECK EM CHECK EM CHECK EM CHECK EM CHECK CHECK EM!!!”

How about….No. We instruct our refs to completely ignore that guy. Just because a hopper was dumped on a stick bunker doesn’t mean a paintball got through. We don’t know who, what, or where to paint check. If you yell this at referees, or yell this at all during games, please stop. It just makes people angry, it makes refs angry, and it red flags you at most fields as “that guy”.

“Ref get him out!”

Ok this is a little better…but barely. Get who out? Where? This will get a referees attention, but it probably won’t land you that paint check on another player.

“Ref check him!”

This will get a refs attention and it may even get a referee over to you but to check a player, our referees need more info.

So what is the proper way to call a paint check on another player? You saw a paintball break and you think that player is still in the game. Here’s what to do:

When describing it to a referee, it should sound something like, “On the inside of the third building directly in front of me, on his right forearm. Blue mask.” This gives a referee the proper location, player description, and where the break may be. By doing the above, you will not only get your paint check, but the referee will know what to look for AND you will gain +25 charm with the referees for not yelling one of the three things above.

It’s important to remember that the vast majority of players are honest and call themselves out in a timely manner. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time for a player to collect pods and walk out. Other times, that player called himself hit and walked out the other side of the building. If you call a paint check on another player and you did NOT physically see that ball break, you may be taking that referee away from his/her more important duties on field.

Why Field Paint Only?

BYOP has come and gone once again. Hundreds of players attended, fun was had, and it always leads to the question, “Why can’t we bring our own paintballs all the time?” This is a question we get asked fairly regularly. There are a few reasons for this:

We have close to 30 employees, five of them full time. We have a maintenance crew much like a ski resort has a park crew or a mountain bike park has a trail crew. They spend the week building new bunkers, fixing broken ones, and making sure the fields are safe to play. We have constructed a new field every other year for the past 10 years. We create more photo, video, and paintball related content of our players, for our players, than any other paintball field on the east coast…and it’s done in house. The list goes on and on.

So next time you come to OSG and purchase a case of field paint, look around you. You won’t have to look far to see where your hard earned money goes. Could we operate being a BYOP facility? Yes. Would we be able to operate the way we do and provide the best paintball experience possible? Absolutely not.
